Volunteering The Past and The Future

JewishCare relies heavily on volunteers to support the efforts of the paid staff.
Our 500 volunteers help in 3 main ways.
Direct client support - working with clients in a variety of roles eg cooking meals, taking clients to appointments or on outings, being Big Brothers or Big Sisters or Mentors, visiting prisoners.
Administrative support - Helping in the office with clerical tasks
Community Relations - The 2010 Capital Appeal was a great example of the volunteers initiating and running a whole range of events that ended up generating $4.8M in pledges and greatly boosting the profile of JewishCare.
JewishCare couldn't provide the level of support to thousands of people in need without our dedicated volunteers.  Volunteer training will be taking place throughout 2012.
However many hours you may be able to devote to JewishCare every volunteer is considered valuable.
If you want more information about how you can make a contribution please give Lana Kofman a call on 8305 8040 or l.kofman@jewishcare.com.au
