White Ribbon Day is a global initiative to stop violence against woman.
Over the last 6 years on (or around) 25 November JewishCare in Sydney has held a White Ribbon Day Mens Breakfast.
Initially the number of attendees was only 30 but each year more and more men have engaged with the campaign and last year over 120 attended.
The success of the campaign has been helped by the approach of engaging 'ambassadors' who promote it amongst their peers and family.
This year for the first time the keynote speaker will be a woman. Natasha Stott Despoja who was well known as leader of the Democrats, is now a panelist on The Project and has recently been appointed as Chair of the Foundation to prevent violence against women and their children, will be addressing the attendees.
At any one time JewishCare has around 20 families who are being supported by the staff in the Domestic Violence program
