The hands that have adorned thousands of cars, which has intrigued members of the Jewish and non Jewish community, has appeared in windows all over The Eastern Suburbs including Clover Moore’s office in Oxford Street. The hands which have also been a popular Facebook and Twitter topic, is now home.
The cut-out orange magnet hands have been the symbol of the hugely successful JewishCare Capital Appeal which has raised $4.7m and will enable JewishCare to build its new headquarters / care hub as well as increasing the funds in the JewishCare Foundation to be used to help people in need.
A two metre high ‘ hand ‘ is now in place at Saber St Bondi Junction, just down from the corner of Newland and Grafton Streets on the building site where construction is about to start.
The 3 storey purpose built facility should be completed during 2011 and will benefit the community for decades to come.
