KosherChef at the Big Kitchen was a great success. 29 chefs prepared some amazing food which will go to people in need in our community.
The event was based on the MasterChef concept involved 5 groups preparing a 3 course meal, which was judged by our celebrity panel of Max Markson, Philip Carr and Kerri Sackville.
The judges mingled and tasted each teams; mains, desserts and entrees, much to the envy of the staff who were there. Congratulations to everyone involved and especially to the winners. Everyone  was so impressed and had such a great time that we intend to hold similar events in the future.

Understanding the Fragile X Syndrome, the leading cause of inherited intellectual disability

Running for just under 29 minutes this video is a wonderful resource to help those affected, especially newly diagnosed families with young children, to understand the syndrome, its implications, what they can possibly expect in the future, and what help is available to them. It also informs and educates medical and education professionals on how best to facilitate the treatment of FXS and where to go for more information.

JewishCare matters
The latest version of JewishCare matters is being distributed over the next few weeks. To celebrate the important role that volunteers play in our community the issue is devoted to our 500 volunteers. It is remarkable to appreciate the range of support that volunteers provide and the difference that they make to the lives of our clients.

Being a member of JewishCare is a great way to show your support for the organisation that helps 1 in 10 members of our community.
Membership subscriptions are now being sent out for the 2012 - 13 year.  To make membership affordable for everyone in our community the Board has kept the annual fee at $11 per person.

Also they have special excursions to the Conservatorium of Music and St Andrew’s Cathedral.
