Macular Degeneration Awareness Week 26 May – 1 June 2013

Macular Degeneration Awareness Week commenced yesterday and will continue until Saturday the 1st of June 2013.

Macular Degeneration is the leading cause of blindness in Australia. Macular Degeneration Awareness Week is an annual event and is used to help increase an understanding of the disease and to encourage those most at risk, people over 50, people who have a family history of Macular Degeneration or smoke to have their eyes tested and Macular checked.

When was the last time you had your eyes tested? Did they check your Macular?

The Aged Case Work Team would like to remind people to make an appointment with their optometrist to have their eyes tested and Macular checked!

For more information on Macular Degeneration see the Macular Degeneration Foundation Australia
